what is breathwork?
There are so many different styles of breathing/pranayama that it can be confusing, I know. This style is a 3-part breathing pattern (2-part inhale, one exhale) that we do actively for about 20 minutes, followed by a 10-minute “rest” period where you allow yourself to soak in whatever experiences/emotions/sensations/revelations arose. This is not an instructive course on breathing techniques, it is a deeply experiential healing journey.
how does a session go?
In a group, we always start in a welcome circle, setting the tone and intention, and creating community with those around us. In a private session, we will spend a few minutes chatting to see if there are any specific areas of your life that feel heavy.
Next, we move to a heart opening meditation with Crystal Bowl Soundbath to begin connecting more deeply with the energetic body.
And then, we breathe!
what can i expect?
Physical sensations in the body during Breathwork are very common; you might feel tingling, heaviness, tightness, or just rushes of energy. This is all good and normal, it is our body’s way of showing us where we are stuck and need to get things moving. Some people have a more dream-like experience with visions and conversations flowing through their mind. Again, there is no right or wrong, and every experience is unique and specific to the person breathing.
